Kevin
Mitchell - Men's Program Head Coach
Starting at age 6, Kevin has played for
water polo for 22 years, retiring from the Canadian Olympic team at the
age of 28. Having accomplished many personal goals in the sport as a
competitor, he is now looking forward to similar successes for the
athletes he coaches. Kevin has been coaching for 3 years now and brings
his Olympic and International experience to coaching as Head Coach of
the FVWP Men’s Program, Head Coach of the Men’s National Development
Centre of BC (part of the Men’s National Team Coaching Program) and
Assistant Coach to the 16U Boys’ National Team. He is very passionate
about coaching and aspires to lead his team to a gold medal at National
Championships. He hopes one day to return to the Olympics as a coach.
Kevin says, “I train athletes to be great water polo players; while
incorporating the life skills that sport has to offer them in the real
world. I want to share my experiences with the kids and to show them how
determination and a strong work ethic can help them to reach their
goals. Coaching isn’t just about building a water polo program; it’s
about building aquatic sports and the character of the athletes I
train”. Kevin is very personable and approachable and welcomes people to
talk to him where ever they may see him – but maybe not during the final
quarter of a gold medal tournament!

Navjot Sohi -
Assistant Coach
I have been involved in water polo either as a player or a coach for the
last 7 years. This is my third year coaching with Fraser Valley and I
can honestly say that it has been an amazing experience! Water polo has
been a huge influence in my life; it has transformed me into the person
I am today. I began coaching because I love seeing the players succeed.
A finish off of a break away or a block on defense, the smile a player
shows after an accomplishment fuels my passion for coaching. I hope I
can be as inspiring and motivating to all the athletes as my coach was
to me. |

Pat Geary -
Assistant Coach
Hey all. For those of you who don’t know me I am Pat Geary. This is my
Third year coaching for Fraser Valley after being a player for the youth
team and a coach the last two years. I have been involved in water polo
for nine years and also coach for the Port Moody Aquarians and Coquitlam
Lions. I am currently a first-year arts student at Corpus Christi
College in Vancouver, and hope to one day become a teacher. My favourite
experiences playing water polo were definitely wining the national
championships under Ian Mitchell and playing on the youth national team
for a summer. I love coaching water polo and look forward to having a
great season with everyone. |

Cody
Dodds -
Assistant Coach
Hello all Fraser Valley members!! My name is Cody and I have been part
of Fraser Valley since 2005. I have been coaching Water Polo around
the Lower Mainland for the past four years and have developed a passion
for it. I grew up with having the Mitchell brothers as mentors and have
been successful both inside and outside the pool with their guidance. I
am currently enrolled in my Grade 12 year at Maple Ridge Secondary
School. After graduation I plan to achieve a spot with the RCMP. I love
coaching as I know what a huge role a coach plays in a player’s
development. You will see me poolside at almost every different practice
as I am all over the place. Any questions about anything please ask! |
